 Am I Pregnant?

When you begin to "feel weird" & miss a period, it often leads to the question, "Am I Pregnant"? A pregnancy test & a visit to your doctor is the best way to know for sure. According to Mayo Clinic, if you have any of these pregnancy symptoms, you could be pregnant:

  • 1.Missed period
  • 2.Tender swollen breasts
  • 3.Nausea with or without vomiting
  • 4.Increased urination
  • 5.Fatigue
  • 6.Moodiness
  • 7.Bloating
  • 8.Light Spotting
  • 9.Cramping
  • 10. Constipation
  • 11. Food Dislikes
  • 12. Nasal Congestion

Most of these early signs of pregnancy are due to hormone changes to help the baby develop. Pregnancy affects each person differently since each of our bodies is so unique. If you think you may be pregnant, make an appointment with your medical provider to confirm if you are pregnant or not. Visiting a local Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) is also a great place to go for a free pregnancy test. Some PRC's offer ultrasounds & STD/STI testing. If your pregnancy is unplanned, your local PRC can offer education on your options & have free programs to earn items you may need. An unplanned pregnancy can be a scary thing but always remember: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. In Effingham, Illinois, Family Life Center is a Pregnancy Resource Center ready to listen & help you in this uncertain time.
